13_HP_1017HERITAGE POINTE, Orange County’s premier independent, assisted-living and memory care Senior community, will host its 28th Annual Fundraising Gala, featuring dinner and dancing, on Sunday,     November 5, 2017 at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach, California. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception in the foyer of the Grand Ballroom, followed by a scrumptious four course dinner inside the elegant Grand Ballroom, over 500 guests are expected to attend this not-to-be-missed annual Gala.

Barbara Shapiro, well-known Orange County philanthropist, will Chair this Gala event.  Joining Barbara as Gala Co-chairs is long-time Heritage Pointe Board member, Roberta Feuerstein, Ann Miller, and Elana Samson. All four of these women lend their tremendous support to many organizations within the Orange County Jewish community, and Heritage Pointe is extremely fortunate to have them all serve for this auspicious and celebratory event.

“It is an honor to have been asked to Chair this very significant event, recognizing eight outstanding individuals who are in their 80s, and who have continued to give back to their community in so many ways,” stated Event Chair Barbara Shapiro. “I try to be someone who would have made my mother and grandmother, of blessed memory, proud. Because I lost them at a young age, I appreciate the wisdom of my elders. You learn a lot spending time with older people. Hearing their stories of love, overcoming hardships, their successes, and family dynamics, can inspire you to avoid or embrace those aspects of life.  They are truly an inspiration and are role models for our generation and our children’s generation to look up and aspire to,” Shapiro continued.

This highly-anticipated event will honor “8 Over 80” exemplary Orange County philanthropists, who are role models for charitable giving and the spirit that makes such generosity possible. Heritage Pointe believes that this kind of life-long generous charitable giving not only benefits the Orange County community, but enriches and empowers the global community.  The distinguished group of “8 Over 80” Honorees being recognized at this year’s Gala include Leona Aronoff-Sadacca, Dr. Doris Chasin, Rose Lacher, Dr. Joe & Barbara Lebovitz, Marlene Mitnick, Dr. Herb Modelevsky, Blossom Siegel and Polly Sloan.

“Heritage Pointe is very proud to be the forum for this community-wide event,” stated Beth Slavin, Director of Philanthropy for Heritage Pointe. “We asked the Orange County Jewish community to nominate these philanthropic individuals from our community, therefore, Heritage Pointe did not select these individuals. These honorees, who are in their ninth and tenth decades, continue to live lives of remarkable achievement, vitality, and civic engagement. During the Gala, we will share a very special and touching video, produced by Josh Friedman, which will give all our guests a snapshot into the lives of these extraordinary “8 Over 80” Honorees. This event is certainly one that you will not want to miss because it will inspire us all to do the very best we can do for our community,” Slavin continued.

Scott Siegel, who was recognized last year along with his wife Leslie, as Heritage Pointe’s Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree, will present the “8 Over 80” distinguished Honorees with their special awards during the Gala.

“Our Heritage Pointe Gala this year offers us all a rare opportunity to celebrate giving, volunteering, and charitable engagement, thus raising awareness of the role of philanthropy in our daily lives,” stated Heritage Pointe CEO Mike Silverman. “Heritage Pointe is humbled, as well as honored to be recognizing these wonderful Honorees at our 28th Annual Gala,” Silverman continued.

Brought back by popular demand, Bonnie Foster Productions will provide the entertainment for the evening, featuring its high-energy seven piece band performing a variety of music appealing to all ages.

Tickets can be purchased at $ 30O per person. Patron and Sponsorships opportunities are also available.
