Israel Center Gala

The Israel Center of Jewish Federation & Family Services is the focal point for all Israel-related activities.  It is a cultural bridge connecting the Orange County Jewish community with Israel through enriching cultural, educational and social programs.

The entire Jewish community of Orange County (21 and up) is invited to the Fourth Annual Israel Center Gala on Saturday night, January 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Myers Theater (Samueli Jewish Campus).  The evening offers an Israeli Tu B’Shvat Celebration, casino cocktail reception (from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.), music and dancing by DJ Eliran, delicious Israeli dinner by Blueberry Hill Catering, Israeli entertainment, unlimited hosted bar and more, all for just $45 (through January 16 and $55 from January 17 to 24). No tickets will be sold at the door.

This Gala is presented by Jewish Federation & Family Services and sponsored by Blueberry Hill Catering, The Israeli House of the Consulate General of Israel, Aaron Huniu Photography and donors from our community.

Cantor Kudos

Cantor Linda Ecker has been named co-chair of the American Conference of Cantors/Guild of Temple Musicians  Annual Convention to be held in Portland, Oregon, in June 2012.  Cantor Ecker recently completed eight years on the executive board of the American Conference of Cantors, six of which were as an officer.

The ACC , an affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism is the professional organization of over 450 invested and/or certified cantors, responsible for raising the professional standards of synagogue musicians.Members of the ACC have special expertise in the music of the Jewish people and serve synagogues and communities in pastoral, worship, programming, and educational roles.  Currently, Cantor Ecker is also chairing Fountain Valley Music Life, a professional concert benefiting music in Fountain Valley School District. The concert will showcase local musicians in our community, highlighting the critical role that music plays in enriching our students’ academic experience.
