CSP presents an artist talk with Rafram Chaddad on Tuesday July 18, at 3:30 PM online and in-person at the Merage Jewish Community Center, 1 Federation Way, Irvine. Join CSP for an enlightening conversation with Israeli-Tunisian artist Rafram Chaddad facilitated by Shirel Horovitz. In 2010, while working on a Jewish heritage project in Libya, he was kidnapped by the Libyan secret police and was held for six months in the notorious Abu Salim prison.

Volunteer at Working Wardrobes
Women’s Philanthropy Mitzvah Mavens of Jewish Federation will have a morning of volunteering at the Working Wardrobes Donation Center 17392 Daimler Street, Irvine, on July 26 at 10 AM. Bring items to donate, help greet donors at the center, curate clothing for clients, and sort/process new clothing to dress clients for success. Working Wardrobes provides career training, job placement assistance, and professional wardrobe services to underserved and at-risk persons in need of individualized assistance. Women’s Philanthropy Pomegranate, Jerri Rosen, founded Working Wardrobes in 1990.

Tisha B’Av Candlelight Service
Join Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI) and other synagogues — Temple Beth El, Congregation B’nai Tzedek, and Temple Judea of Laguna Hills on Wednesday, July 26, at 7:45 PM– for reflection, prayer, and the chanting of Eicha. (Lamentations). The space at Congregation B’nai Israel will be darkened and illuminated with candles. Congregants and friends will be seated on the floor. (Please bring a pillow if needed.). On Thursday, July 27, at 6:30 PM, there will be mincha and a break-fast at CBI.
