Join NA’AMAT  USA
NA’AMAT Bat Galim hopes you are all having a meaningful launch into the Jewish New Year. “Happy New Year” doesn’t quite fit as we cross a full year since the October 7th massacre and await with hope the return of the remaining hostages. NA’AMAT was founded as Pioneer Women long before the modern state of Israel was established. We have been an enduring presence in Israel—a critical safety net in good times and tense times. As we approach our 100th birthday next year, NA’AMAT continues to address the critical need for childcare, legal aid, domestic violence victims’ assistance, education and training and so much more.

Setting our hopes and intentions for ourselves and the world is all about creating a vision.
Join NA’AMAT to nosh under the Sukkah and vision around the table — together as a community of caring, committed Jewish women.

See the invitation above. If you haven’t done so yet, please RSVP to western.area@naamat.org. You are welcome to bring a friend. Space is limited so please RSVP for each individual attending.

Merage JCC’s Young Philanthropists
Young Philanthropists provides 9th-12th grade teens with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.

Through a series of four sessions, the program teaches basic guidelines for meaningful philanthropy and inspires teens to take responsibility for meeting the needs of various populations in our community, in Israel, and throughout the world.

The Young Philanthropists visit local nonprofit agencies, hear guest speakers from national and international organizations, participate in hands-on philanthropic projects, and learn about the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world). At the conclusion of the program, the group collectively engages in a thoughtful, lively process to determine how their money ($36 per participant, plus a generous grant from an anonymous donor) should be allocated.

If you want to develop leadership skills, earn credit for up to 12 hours of community service, and enhance your college resume, all while having fun with a group of your peers from across the Orange County Jewish Community, apply today for Young Philanthropists.

All participating teens receive community service hours.
