Chef Elizabeth Falkner visits Heritage Pointe to Offer Seniors her Famous Desserts!
Can a Kosher dessert also be an award-winning celebrity-designed creation? Chef Elizabeth Falkner will show off her culinary skills on Thursday, June 9 at Heritage Pointe and answer that question.
Falkner is an award-winning chef, author, and artist. She first opened the multiple award-winning Citizen Cake, a restaurant and patisserie, and later opened Orson restaurant.
She was a James Beard Award nominated chef and her first cookbook, “Demolition Desserts” was a finalist for IACP’s Julia Child Best First Cookbook.
Thanks to a generous grant by the Isidore C and Penny Myers Foundation, Falkner teamed up with Morrison Living, Heritage Pointe’s dining services vendor, to show seniors that foods can be healthy and tasty and Kosher all at the same time. Falkner will be making her famous cheesecake—with a twist! Residents will participate in a cooking demonstration and then taste the finished creations.
