The event was held in the front yard of Moishe House Orange County – Lake Forest. Residents set up a fire pit, taco bar and smores station so guests could shmooze and nosh as it celebrated the lively holidays of Cinco de Mayo and Lag B’Omer, both of which ironically fell on Taco Tuesday!
Moishe House had 12 guests join it, and two of the guests were very new to the Moishe House community. What was meaningful to them was that they brought so many people together and made them feel like they were a part of a warm Jewish family. Moishe House reached out to its guests and they had comments to share about their experience at the event.
“As one of the first events kicking off May, let alone the warmer months, this event, let alone the group, has always shone a light on community and continues to be a driving force in YJP (Young Jewish Professionals) in Orange County. This group has become one of my favorites over the last couple of months, as all of my friends are already there, and the new friends who arrive are always welcomed and come back to more events. Whether they come back for the food, drinks, or community, they always come back. The fire of Moishe House Lake Forest will never be extinguished.”
“It was nice to be outside and hanging by the fire, enjoying tacos, s’mores and the company of good friends!”
“I’ve only recently joined in the Moho community, and yet the people here have welcomed me with open arms, the event and the community remind me why I love being Jewish.”
“It’s a great space to meet young Jewish adults in Orange County.”
