On March 27, about 180 people gathered at Temple Bat Yahm in Newport Beach, California for a special evening in support of Magen David Adom, the first-ever formal American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) event in Newport Beach.
Funds raised will go to rescue vehicles, equipment, and supplies for Israel’s heroic medics to meet the needs of increased violence within Israel’s borders, as well as to the Magen Project, which trains community-based teams to provide emergency medical services during times of war, terror attacks, or natural disasters.
The evening included a fascinating conversation with “Fauda” star and co-creator Lior Raz, a beautiful musical program, and an update on MDA’s activities by Raphael Herbst, deputy director of the MDA international relations department and Lt. Col. (res.), Commander of MDA’s Reserve Unit. A special video presentation featured the story of Amit Man, a 22-year-old paramedic who was killed on October 7th while saving lives in the Kibbutz Be’eri clinic.
