News & Jews – Hagit Pe’er, President of NA’AMAT Israel, and Shirli Shavit, Director of the International Department, NA’AMAT Israel, embark on a mission with NA’AMAT USA: Strengthening Bonds Across Communities

    NA’AMAT USA proudly announces the upcoming visit of Hagit Pe’er, President of NA’AMAT Israel, and Shirli Shavit, Director of the International Department, NA’AMAT Israel. Their journey, scheduled from May 3 to May 9, 2024, is set to foster connections, and celebrate the enduring partnership between NA’AMAT Israel and NA’AMAT USA.  They will also share insights, as to the changes in Israel since the Oct. 7th massacre. NA’AMAT is the largest women’s organization in Israel.
    The itinerary for their trip promises an engaging series of events across three key locations: Los Angeles, Cleveland, and the Philadelphia Area. This journey is a testament to NA’AMAT USA’s commitment to empowering women, supporting families, and advancing education and social services in Israel.

Los Angeles: May 3-6
     In Los Angeles, Hagit Pe’er and Shirli Shavit will commence their visit with a warm Shabbat evening dinner on May 3, graciously hosted by Gail S. Mitzvah chapter. The following days will be filled with events aimed at fostering dialogue and mutual understanding. From meetings with local leaders to engaging gatherings with NA’AMAT members from the Greater Los Angeles Region, hosted by Rene P., Eilat chapter and Homa M., Golda chapter. This visit promises to strengthen ties between communities.
    Throughout their trip, Hagit Pe’er and Shirli Shavit will serve as ambassadors of goodwill, fostering collaboration and solidarity between NA’AMAT Israel and NA’AMAT USA. Their visit underscores NA’AMAT USA’s unwavering dedication to promoting gender equality, education, and social welfare in Israel.
